SEND and Inclusion

Welcome to the SEND and Inclusion Pages of Hazlemere CE School's website!

We are an inclusive school and we are very proud of our welcoming, supportive ethos and our skilled, highly trained teachers and support staff who work hard to make sure that we nurture every single child in our school to ensure they achieve their potential.

We believe that all children should be equally valued in school. We strive to remove any barriers to learning which could hinder or exclude individual pupils with SEND. We believe all children should have the opportunity to flourish and feel safe. Through our motto of 'Nurture Every Talent', we support the development of the whole child, whilst valuing and celebrating the many and varied abilities displayed by all children.

Please click on the drop downs below for lots of information and let's see how we can work together to best support your child.

Mental Health

At Hazlemere C of E we are lucky to have our own Nurture space called the Starlight room and a Nurture practitioner (Mrs Dymott). A Nurture group is a focused, short-term intervention for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties which make it harder for them to learn in a mainstream class. Nurture groups have run in the UK for over 50 years and are now an international intervention.

We also use ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) style interventions to support individual students.

Mrs Brocklehurst is our Senior Mental Health Lead.

Should you have an immediate concern about your child's safety, please call the emergency services.
